Our Organization and Mission:

The Division of Service Operations manages the Central Intake and Licensure unit, the one-stop shop for intake of applications and payments. The Division also oversees the Customer Contact Center (CCC), which handles all initial interaction conducted via telephone and e-mail.

The Work You Will Do:

This position has decision making and program management responsibilities of major operations affecting the performance of the Bureau of Central Intake and Licensure.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

The incumbent in this position performs the following work and other related activities:

  • The program areas under this position’s authority include the Mail Intake and Scanning, Revenue Intake, Profiling/Validation, Licensure Renewal, Research, and Application Processing Units.
  • The position provides management coordination and consulting services to improve the section’s capabilities and is responsible for the operational planning and management of the units objectives, goals, and priorities.
  • Ensures the Bureau of Central Intake and Licensure operate within well-established policies, laws, rules, and guidelines.
  • Represents DBPR in interactions with the public and other agencies, and acts as a Liaison between the Bureau, Boards, Divisions, and Offices within DBPR.
  • Reviews, approves and makes recommendations on budget issues pertaining to the Bureau of Central Intake and Licensure.  Performs administrative duties relating to work assignments, personnel and all managerial decisions relating to the Bureau.
  • Ensures effective use of system technology and makes recommendations for enhancements to maximize the DBPR licensing capabilities.
  • Monitors legislative proposals and bill analysis and makes recommendations for statue or rule changes when appropriate.
  • Manages the development of new and improvements of existing programs in the Bureau.
  • Responsible for conducting all administrative duties associated with recruiting, interviewing, selecting, hiring and promoting employees in the Bureau.  This includes preparation of performance plans and conducting annual performance reviews.  Recommends and executes personnel actions including disciplinary actions when appropriate.  Coordinates the development of performance standards and evaluation of work processes to meet long-range planning goals for the Department.

  • Ability to work independently.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have two (2) years or more supervisory experience; and
  • Must have one (1) year or more of progressive business management experience; and
  • Must have a successful track record of effectively managing and leading teams in a production-based work unit; and
  • Must have experience in fiscal, personnel, and performance related activities; and
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint); and
  • Must have experience managing a paperless work environment; and
  • Must be proficient in and have a strong working knowledge of the professional licensure programs served by the Bureau of Central Intake and Licensure.
