Minimum Starting Salary:  $4,423.08 Bi-Weekly.  (Salary commensurate with knowledge and experience, up to $5,000.00 Bi-Weekly.)

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serves as the Department of Juvenile Justice Chief Information Officer (CIO) and a member of the state Chief Information Officer Council.

 

Addresses interagency information sharing and advises executive leadership on emerging technologies and digital trends.  Communicate complex IT campaigns and provide solutions.

 

Ensures cybersecurity standards and risk mitigation strategies. Directs the implementation of statewide communications systems, remote computer subunits and interfaces with other computer-based information systems within state government.

 

Directs interagency wide area network solutions and coordinates with the Criminal and Juvenile Justice Information System Council on identifying technical solutions to connecting criminal justice agencies.

 

Prepares Legislative Budget Requests pertaining to information technology resources.

 

Maintains liaison with federal agencies to assist in analysis of federal legislation and determination of impact of the department’s information systems.

 

Ensures the use of automation for effective and efficient operations.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to communicate complex IT strategies to executive leadership.

 

Ability to lead and inspire teams, foster collaborations and professional growth.

 

Knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, cloud services, and databases.

 

Knowledge of computer hardware and operating systems. 

 

Ability to install and configure networks, computer hardware, operating systems and supporting components. 

 

Knowledge of State procurement laws and rules.

 

Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems. 

 

Knowledge of agency, state, and federal rules and regulations.

 

Knowledge of computer security issues, physical security, and associated procedures.

 

Knowledge of anti-virus systems.

 

Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.

 

 

PREFERED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of ten (10) years of experience working in information technology (IT) and a minimum of three (3) years of supervising IT strategic planning and managing an organization's information technology systems and services.

 

Preference also given to candidates with strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.

 

Candidate must have proven experience in managing data security, directing complex IT projects and leading multiple teams.
