WORKING TITLE: Citizen Services Manager

This open competitive advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located at Central Office in the Office of Legislative Affairs, Citizen Services Unit.

The mission of the Office of Legislative Affairs, Citizen Services is to facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the Florida Department of Corrections and the legislative branch, as well as to provide responsive and accurate information to citizens. This office aims to ensure transparency, accountability, and public trust through proactive engagement and service.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Lead and Coordinate: Manage the Office of Legislative Affairs, Victim Services, and Citizen Services, ensuring smooth communication and efficient staff coordination.
  • Resolve Issues: Address and resolve requests from victims and citizens, and keep top officials informed about major concerns.
  • Supervise and Improve: Oversee team members, track correspondence, and recommend strategies to boost efficiency.
  • Stay Updated: Track legislative matters and assist with bill analysis, ensuring the team is aware of any changes impacting operations.
  • Engage and Travel: Respond to calls from inmate families and legislators, coordinate special projects, and occasionally travel to FDC facilities to understand operations better.

REQUIREMENTS:

    • Postsecondary education may substitute on a year for year basis for the required experience.
