POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Senior Management Analyst Supervisor and the Bureau Chief, the incumbent in this position assists with supervision, administration and resolution of operational and management problems pertaining to the activities of the Bureau.  This position is responsible for providing management consultant services to the Division, Department, and other agencies to improve operations and ensure efficient and effective accomplishments of agency objectives.  Additionally, this position supervises employees assigned to the maintenance, data processing and dissemination functions related to the Computerized Criminal History file and the Biometric Identification Solution system.  This position is responsible for streamlining functions to promote efficient and effective processing. This position provides research analysis relative to laws, rules and regulations that directly or indirectly have an impact on criminal justice data.  This position provides administrative assistance and support to the SMAS and Bureau Chief in such areas as auditing daily activity reports, preparing employee performance evaluations, evaluating unit workload status and individual employee progress.  This position develops and maintains personal contact for information/corrective action reports by the private sector, municipal, county, state and federal agencies.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Formulating objectives by outlining goals, activities and special projects which are consistent with the section and bureau overall objectives and mission, and conveys to section members;
  • Coordinating various work volumes daily and addressing them through work adjustments by monitoring the status of the work in the section;
  • Ensuring coordination with counterparts within the Department with respect to work adjustments or procedural changes to ensure other areas are not adversely impacted. Providing verbal status reports weekly or as instructed by the supervisor;
  • Ensuring members understand their responsibilities and providing regular and constructive feedback through performance evaluations and routine ongoing communication with members;
  • Providing training and cross-training of members;
  • Ensuring the section’s manual is kept updated with current procedures;
  • Managing assigned work processes, ensuring timeliness and quality, and updating supervisor on issues and progress;
  • Researching, gathering, and formatting all data that is to be shared with internal and external agencies on a daily, weekly, monthly, biannual and annual basis. Recommending operational policies and assists in the establishment of procedures and procedural manuals to implement policies, achieve operational objectives or resolve operation problems;
  • Monitoring operational activities to meet objectives and assure compliance with state and federal laws and operational goals;
  • Providing daily consultation and assistance to management and staff in oversight of programs and responsibilities; and
  • Preparing program user specifications and assisting programming staff with understanding data definitions, edits, program modifications, and output reports required by supplying written documentation and verbal instructions as required.

 

To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • At least three (3) years of experience in criminal justice or administrative work.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of criminal justice systems;
  • Ability to analyze and generate documentation;
  • Ability to read and interpret criminal justice data;
  • Ability to lead a team by channeling strategic vision into concrete plans of action;
  • Ability to develop plans for achieving goals and objectives;
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, and organize work assignments;
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; and
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

BASE SALARY:

  • $ 61,800.00
