POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Applicant Services Unit (ASU) Planning and Policy Administrator (PPA), the incumbent in this position assists with the supervision, administration, and resolution of operational and management problems as they relate to the activities of ASU. This position is responsible for providing management consultant services to the Division, Department, and other agencies to improve operations and ensure efficient and effective accomplishments of agency objectives. Additionally, this position provides research analysis relative to state and national laws, rules and regulations that directly or indirectly have an impact on the dissemination of criminal justice data or information. This position also provides management assistance in such areas as fiscal accounting functions, auditing daily workflow reports, evaluating unit workload status and construction of performance progress reports. This position plans and implements new programs for collecting and/or using criminal justice data, conducts management studies and surveys of criminal justice information programs, analyzes, and develops projects relating to criminal justice information and assists federal, state, and local agencies in the use and dissemination of criminal justice information for non-criminal justice purposes. This position works independently and in teams to accomplish objectives established in the Agency Strategic Plan and consults with other governmental agencies to evaluate their information needs and capabilities. This position must meet National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/Florida Crime Information Center (FCIC) Certification requirements within six (6) months of appointment and maintain this certification as required by the FCIC Basic Training Manual. The member in this position is responsible for the care, custody, and control of all property assigned. Responsible for supervision of staff and incumbent spends the majority of time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating members while planning and directing their work.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Assisting with direct member supervision and in the planning, organization, coordination, and management of work within the section;
- Consulting with unit supervisors and administrative staff to resolve programmatic, administrative, and operational issues and problems;
- Assessing/analyzing and makes recommendations to resolve issues and problems within the Section;
- Assisting with issues as they relate to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), various governmental or private entities, the general public, and other customers serviced by the Section;
- Developing and conducting management studies to assist the PPA in streamlining functions to promote efficient and effective accomplishments of criminal justice information objectives;
- Providing data analysis of productivity goals of the Unit and provides research, analysis, and assimilation of information relative to laws, rules, and regulations that directly or indirectly impact criminal justice data;
- Preparing periodic performance evaluations on employees and makes recommendations for promotions pertinent to the Section; and
- Performing other related duties and functions.
To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
At least one year of experience in either a management or leadership capacity.
