Position Summary
Professional position in the Human Resource Office responsible for providing technical assistance to staff regarding the Agency’s Classification and Compensation and personnel action programs.
The Work You Will Do
- Maintains organizational management and position maintenance in the People First (PF)system.
- Creates, reclassifies, and/or abolishes positions; update direct reports, funding codes, organizational codes, and position location mailing and address changes.
- Responds to Classification assignments from management and inquiries from customers within the Agency.
- Maintains the Agency’s official organizational charts and position descriptions.
- Maintains role codes, requisition managers, and time-keepers in People First.
- Conducts independent research and analysis to improve processes and ensures compliance for classification and pay. Develop solutions to issues or concerns.
- Completes classification actions; ensures positions are properly classified, and classification packages are completed correctly.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- At least two (2) years of human resources/personnel experience in the State Personnel System.
- Preference will be given to applicants with Classification experience in the State Personnel System.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Computer Technology used for communication, data gathering and reporting.
- Basic operation of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams).
- State of Florida rules, policies, procedures, and practices related to personnel functions.

- Plan, organize, prioritize, and coordinate work assignments with minimal supervision.

Direct Deposit Program
As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.
Background Screening Requirement
It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
