DESCRIPTION

  • This is a professional position in the Office of Child and Family Well-Being (OCFW) requiring careful time management and initiative to plan and execute OCFW Program communication plans, work as a liaison for legislative affairs and change management activities, as needed.
  • Coordinates with colleagues and develops processes to ensure communications throughout OCFW are prioritized
  • Assists all division leadership of OCFW with prioritizing and tracking communication plans
  • Drafts and finalizes communication materials and responses for public awareness, media, legislative, and executive inquiries, ensuring the successful messaging of OCFW
  • Participates in the creative process and assists with the design and execution of internal and forward-facing materials and activities
  • Develops draft responses, documents, briefings, talking points, and presentations for state and federal national conferences and/or internal requests
  • Oversees brand and messaging consistency for the Program
  • Manages external contracts with marketing and advertising vendors
  • Coordinates communications in response to disaster response for OCFW
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

This position requires strong written and oral communication skills, time management skills, knowledge of the communcations process, and the ability to work collaboratively to coordinate information from various sources into one response.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, marketing, or social work, or related area of study from an accredited college or university required.

 

Work Experience Requirements:

At minimum, 2 years’ experience in communications, marketing, or social work with preference given to work specifically with Florida Statutes and Federal Child Welfare regulations.

 

 

SOFTWARE PROFICIENCY:

Microsoft Office suite of programs
