Position Overview and Responsibilities:
Will conduct organizational studies and evaluations on office procedures providing technical assistance and developing procedures to assist the Florida Resilience Program to operate more efficiently and effectively. The incumbent of this position provides consultative and analysis services, and technical assistance to local governments, the constituents of Florida, and program staff for the Planning Group of the Florida Resilient program. This position may require travel using a state vehicle in the performance of duties.
Processes, analyzes, and tracks grant funded applications for state, federal and local governments.
Conducts research and determines eligibility of grant expenditures in furtherance of approved grant projects, in accordance with program and fiscal rules, contract controls, state laws and policies.
Develops and distributes reports, bulletins, maps, brochures, and other information to assist in the provision of and participation in programs administered, providing information for the communities in Florida, and other interested parties.
Plans and conduct workshops in conjunction with administered grant programs.
Participates in conferences, workshops, seminars, and similar activities for the program.
Compiling and analyzing data relevant to the identification of problems and the development of programs directed at solving these problems.
Provides program analysis to departmental planning task forces.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of community planning/development programs; program coordination and evaluation techniques.
Ability to evaluate, review, and administer federal and state grants; provide consultative and advisory services to government and community groups; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; use computer (Microsoft Word, Access and Excel); establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; understand and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures; monitor program effectiveness; conduct research and prepare various reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
At least 4 years of verifiable related experience. Post-secondary degrees from an accredited college or university may be used as an alternative for the required 4 years of experience on a year-for-year basis.
Travel may be required. Valid driver license.
