The Florida Department of Financial Services is seeking an experienced technology leader to serve as our Desktop Services Manager within the Office of Information Technology. This leadership position oversees a team of IT professionals responsible for delivering enterprise desktop support and endpoint management services that enable the Department's mission across the State of Florida.

What You'll Do
As the Desktop Services Manager, you will:
- Lead and supervise a team of Desktop Services professionals.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance management for technical staff.
- Oversee enterprise desktop operations, endpoint management, and service delivery.
- Manage Microsoft Windows desktop environments and endpoint management technologies.
- Collaborate with business partners to identify technological needs and deliver effective solutions.
- Develop operational plans and manage budget resources.
- Improve service delivery processes through performance metrics and continuous improvement.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal technical teams to ensure reliable technology services.
- Evaluate operational issues and implement effective solutions.
- Support disaster response activities when required.
Requirements:
- Eight (8) years of professional experience in Information Technology or Computer Science is required. A post-secondary degree in those fields may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
- Proficient in the English Language
Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of computer programming and/or computer system analysis.
- Knowledge and experience with service request ticket tracking systems.
- Knowledge and use of Microsoft Products (Office, Outlook, Internet Explorer, Active Directory, WSUS (Windows Server Update Services), SCCM (Services and System Center Configuration Manager), Windows 7/2000/XP/Vista, etc.).
- Knowledge of key departmental stakeholders.
- Ability to deal with others in difficult and complex situations to achieve resolution.
- Ability to convey information clearly and concisely to groups or individuals either verbally or in writing.
- Ability to assign work and to establish work rules and acceptable levels of quality and quantity of work.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with others in order to encourage and support communication and teamwork.

SPECIAL NOTES:
Salary Range: $95,000.00 - $110,000.00 Annually.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.
This position is located in Tallahassee, FL and is designated as in-office only. Telework and remote work are not available.
This position requires the incumbent to be Criminal Justice Agency (CJA) approved for access to Criminal Justice Information (CJI). The incumbent will adhere to the Florida Department of Financial Services, Administrative Policies and Procedures 4-01, CJIS Management Directive and Local Security Policy.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
This position spends the majority of their time supervising. Manages the Desktop Services team, including providing annual performance expectations and evaluations, selecting qualified individuals to fill vacancies, reviewing and approving timesheets, taking appropriate corrective/disciplinary action and providing regular feedback. Communicates with, motivates, trains, and evaluates employees. Plans and directs employees’ work and must recommend actions such as hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees.
This position is a professional, operational, and technical management role responsible for providing operational support for Infrastructure services. The incumbent will administer, and interpret organizational goals, policies, and procedures, prepare, monitor and adjust operational budget in collaboration with management. This position also manages the review, analysis and definition of operational systems problems and applies accepted management principles and systems analysis techniques to develop new systems or to improve existing systems.
The manager will provide training to Desktop staff for deploying, managing, and updating Microsoft Windows devices via System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
The incumbent will also consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to determine computing needs and system requirements.
