SPECIAL NOTES:

Four (4) years of experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field is required.

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field OR an associate degree Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field and two (2) years of the required experience may be used as an alternative for the required years of experience.

 

Additional requirements:

  • Five (5) years or more of experience in a technical leadership role primarily focused on virtualization and server support across various computer operating systems, applications, and hardware such as VMWare, Windows Server, and Active Directory and hardware management.
  • Five (5) years of experience and comprehension of Microsoft 365 Software as a Service (SaaS) with expertise in online meetings and collaboration, online file storage, productivity applications, security and compliance features, and identity management.
  • Three (3) years of professional experience in vulnerability scanning, event and traffic monitoring, incident response and remediation work, and endpoint security toolset management for a Windows Operating System Server environment.
  • Experience and fundamental understanding of cloud infrastructure services.
  • High proficiency in troubleshooting IT infrastructure issues. 
  • Ability to perform detailed data reporting analytics and transform data into information to assist the department in business decisions.
  • Must be proficient in the English Language.
  • Three (3) years of experience in monitoring, tracking, and reporting performance metrics.
  • Three (3) years of experience with fault and performance monitoring systems, such as SolarWinds, Nagios, etc.

 

This position may be required to occasionally perform duties other than those listed on the position description.

 

The salary range for this position is $90,000.00 to $110,000.00 annually.

 

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

 

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of Windows Server administration.
  • Knowledge of Security-related software and hardware including McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator, Splunk, and Palo Alto firewalls.
  • Knowledge of Dell Server hardware and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of best practices related to IT security.
  • Knowledge of industry-accepted role-based access control principles
  • Ability to write procedures, guidelines, and user guides.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to determine work priorities and ensure the proper and timely completion of work assignments.
  • Ability to compile and analyze data.
  • Ability to distill information and translate it into training materials.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and apply statutes, rules, guidelines, policies, procedures, and standards.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

You will manage a team of professional staff responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation, operation, and management of midrange systems which include, Microsoft Windows server operating systems, physical servers and hardware, server virtualization platforms, directory services infrastructure, load balancers/application delivery controllers, monitoring and alerting systems, enterprise FTP services, security software and hardware, and cloud services.

 

The person in this role will also serve as the primary escalation point for complex technical issues, diagnosing and resolving them in a timely manner, reporting regularly to senior management on team performance, infrastructure health, and any potential risks or opportunities.
