  • Must be willing to be On-Call and work weekends.

Preferences:

  • One (1) or more years of experience with printing and printing equipment.
  • TSO, CA7, Publisher, and Printer Operations.
  • Experience with audit control numbers type forms.

 

 

This position is not a Telework position and is required to report to the office located in Tallahassee, Florida.

 

This position work hours are from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

 

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.

 

Salary Range: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year.

 

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge to research information and identify and develop approach to implement a plan.
  • Knowledge of basic data processing terminology, procedures and flow. 
  • Knowledge of appropriate tools and equipment needed to perform a job.
  • Knowledge of technology needed to generate or adapt equipment to serve user needs.
  • Knowledge of the functions and procedures for data processing quality control. 
  • Skill in reading and understanding work related documentation and making corrections when changes take place.
  • Skill in conducting tests to determine whether equipment, software, or procedures are operating as expected. 
  • Skill to teach others new tasks or processes.
  • Ability to listen actively and ask questions when appropriate.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. 
  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

This is professional technical work responsible for the print production and output distribution for the Department of Financial Services.  This position may require moving items in excess of 35 or more pounds. Incumbent duties include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors.
  • Confer with staff, users, and management to determine requirements for job scheduling.
  • Observes and maintains data center site security and procedures.
  • Maintains record of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial action taken, and installation activities.
  • Controls workflow for maximum utilization of computer efficiency.
  • Refers major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service.
  • Operates computer peripheral devices and systems.
  • Monitors system performance and capacity requirements.
  • Reads technical manuals, confers with users, and conducts computer diagnostics to determine nature of problems and provide technical assistance.
  • Operates computer output preparation equipment and processes to exact specifications.
  • Assists users to identify and solve data communication problem.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

 

Incumbent of position is a member of DFS’ Disaster Response Team and, in that capacity, may be required on short notice to perform duties and necessary attendant travel in support of disaster relief efforts.)
