A high school diploma or its equivalent is required.

Applicants are required to have two (2) or more years of data processing experience.

Preference will be given to applicants who have two (2) or more years of experience with the following:

  • CA-7 experience.
  • TSO experience.
  • IBM JCL experience

Must be willing to be on-call on weekends.

Must be willing to work 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.)

This position may be required to occasionally perform duties other than those listed on the position description.

This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment. 

Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of computer programming techniques to know how the programs run a variety of programs, such as JES, MVS, and JCL.
  • Knowledge of basic data processing terminology, procedures and flow.
  • Knowledge of the functions and procedures for data processing quality control.
  • Skill in reading and understanding work related documentation and making corrections when changes take place.
  • Skill in prioritizing and coordinating data processing workflow activities.
  • Ability to process information logically.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.


Monitor the running of nightly updates and verify completion codes of jobs to assure accuracy of production.

Make corrections to job streams and reschedule any jobs which do not end normally or which do not produce the desired results.

When necessary, work closely with programmers and/or analysts in making job stream changes and rescheduling jobs.

Maintain nightly production log and other related records which are used to evaluate work load and investigate problems.

Maintain efficiency in and a working knowledge of IBM, JCL and all production related software, request formal training as required.
