POSITION SUMMARY:

The individual in this position participates actively in the management team of Planning & Budget bureau, including consulting with the Director, Deputy Director, Bureau Chiefs, and other program leaders on the formulation of overall goals and objectives, policy and operational issues, special projects and budgets. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

• Establishing priorities and providing ongoing direction to members of the Contracts & Grants section of the Planning & Budget bureau about assignments, policies, and procedures;
• Providing fair and impartial work products and services in compliance with FDLE policy, and carrying through with commitments to members and customers concerning work related matters;
• Dealing with customers and co-workers in an honest and courteous manner that acknowledges the value of all individuals and promotes reciprocal respect. Valuing other members’ contributions and opinions;
• Providing ongoing feedback to members, and communicating routinely on department values, issues, and projects;
• Reviewing and ensuring accuracy on all grant applications and State Financial Assistance grants;
• Monitoring all federal grants monthly and informing program coordinators of possible issues; and
• Providing advice and technical assistance to local government entities interested in development and implementation of their criminal justice programs we provide funding for.

To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. At least one year of experience managing federal grants; and/or
2. At least one year of experience managing State Financial Assistance grants.
3. Any combination of the experience described above for a total of two years. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis;
• Knowledge of basic management principles and practices;
• Ability to supervise people;
• Ability to organize data into logical formats for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials;
• Ability to utilize problem solving techniques;
• Ability to work independently; amd 
• Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments.

BASE SALARY:

• $71,440.80

NOTES:

Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
