POSITION TITLE: CORRECTIONAL PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR

This internal advertisement is for a SES (Selected Exempt Service) position located at Central Office in Tallahassee, FL, in the Office of Community Corrections.

The mission of the Office of Community Corrections in the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to enhance public safety by effectively supervising offenders in the community and providing them with the necessary resources and support to facilitate their successful reintegration.

This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Leadership and Supervision: Communicate with, motivate, train, evaluate, and direct employees, with authority to hire, transfer, or discipline staff.
  • Procedure Development: Develop, administer, and coordinate annual revisions of Interstate Compact Procedures and Manuals, and coordinate training curriculum.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor all operations of the Interstate Compact Office to ensure quality performance and supervise a team of Correctional Services Consultants and Assistant Consultants.
  • Liaison Role: Act as the liaison between the Community Corrections Office of Interstate Compact and other criminal justice stakeholders.
  • Case Processing: Assist Bureau Chiefs with processing cases through the Interstate Commission for Adult Offender Supervision.
  • Case Review: Review and analyze cases transferring in and out of Florida, making decisions that impact public safety.
  • Special Projects: Complete special reports or projects involving Community Corrections and Interstate Compact and coordinate Probable Cause Hearings.
  • Warrant Management: Review and forward state and administrative warrants to field staff, and process Interstate Probation and Parole Compact cases as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be currently employed with Florida Department of Corrections.
  • Must possess a high school diploma.
  • Must possess three (3) years of experience as a Correctional Probation Supervisor.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT

The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
