This internal advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in the Bureau of Admission & Release.
The mission of the Bureau of Admission & Release at the Florida Department of Corrections (FDC) is to manage the intake, classification, and release processes of inmates in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner. The Bureau aims to support the overall mission of the FDC to enhance public safety and provide effective correctional services.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
- Process Inmate Cases: Manage the processing of inmates under the Sexually Violent Program within statutory time frames.
- Prepare Information Packets: Compile and disseminate detailed information packets to the Department of Children and Families and the State Attorney's office.
- Monitor Recommendations: Track and monitor recommendations made by the Department of Children and Families and the State Attorney's office.
- Review Criminal Histories: Analyze criminal histories and all components of inmate commitments to determine eligibility under the Sexually Violent Predator Program (SVPP).
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure all processes and reviews are conducted in accordance with statutory requirements and program guidelines.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must possess a high school diploma.
- Four (4) years of classification, release officer or sentence structure experience.
- Certified to use the NCIC/FCIC systems
- Experience in analyzing data and/or interpreting rules and statues.
- Allowed flexiblity with your work schedule to meet the requirements of processing immediate releases.
Support of knowledge, skills, and abilities should be demonstrated on the application, in the education, in the work experience, in the work sample, in the interview and/or during reference checks.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
