Job Description
This is a professional position responsible for the planning, execution and oversight of data collection, verification, and analysis projects used in the management of court programs and operations.  The position will be involved in all aspects of the Data Administration function including system development and administration, data processing, analysis and reporting with a primary focus on data management, quality and analysis. The position is responsible for all aspects of data management including modeling, acquisition, quality, governance and analysis.  The position will serve as both team member and team leader on a variety of data management projects. The position is responsible for supervising staff as assigned when implementing and maintaining data management systems, applications and associated hardware.  The position will work with court committees, clerks of court, state agencies, the Legislature and the public to obtain accurate and reliable data and to answer related data requests.  The position also provides internal support to data collection operations and staff researchers.


Education and Training Guidelines:
Additional relevant experience may substitute for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis and additional relevant education may substitute for the recommended experience on a year-for-year basis.  


Bachelor’s degree in statistics, economics, research methodology, mathematics or a closely related field and four years of relevant experience including experience in applied statistical research or statistical analysis.

Bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, information technology or a closely related field and five years of relevant experience preferred.

Equipment Usage:

Leads or handles machines, tools, equipment or work aids involving moderate latitude for judgment regarding attainment of a standard or in selecting appropriate items, such as computers, peripherals, or software programs, such as word processing, spreadsheets or custom applications.

Safety of Others:
Requires some responsibility for safety and health of others.


Special Comments:

Proficiency in the use of Structured Query Language (SQL) required. Programming and analytical experience required.  Experience with the Python programming language and unix tools/Powershell environment desirable. SAS, Perl, R, VBA or other languages a plus. A basic understanding or counting principles and strong experience in data scrubbing and validation techniques.
