An associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university is required. Professional or paraprofessional experience in criminal intelligence, military intelligence, financial analysis, investigative analysis, and/or in a law enforcement agency can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.


Additional requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, & Excel).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills


Preference will be given to applicants with:

  • Criminal intelligence, military intelligence, financial and investigative analysis experience, and/or working in a law enforcement agency.
  • FCIC/NCIC certification


The position will be hired at $34,320.00.


May occasionally be required to work outside core work hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to assist with search warrants and preparation of court documents.


This position may be asked to attend and successfully complete trainings such as the Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Training (FLEAT) and the Florida Law Enforcement Analyst Academy (FLEAA) once minimum qualifications are met. Trainings may require out of town travel.


This position requires a security background check, which includes fingerprinting and a drug screening as a condition of employment.


Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to analyze, interpret and summarize criminal intelligence data.
  • Ability to review large amounts of criminal intelligence data and to determine the significance, completeness, and usefulness of the data.

  1. Performs criminal history and intelligence checks with reference to investigations for all sworn personnel as directed.
  2. Directly supports and assists investigators in the compilation and analysis of confidential information regarding public assistance fraud investigations and recommends specific investigative directions based upon such information. Proficient in use of personal computer.
  3. Performs detailed research of criminal investigations and documents relating to public assistance fraud.
  4. Requests and receives information in a confidential nature. Communicate clearly and effectively orally, in writing, and telephone.
  5. Compiles, analyzes, disseminates information and criminal intelligence from various agencies, the public, and other sources, and utilizes these sources to maintain the exchange of pertinent information among law enforcement agencies.
  6. Coordinates inter-state and intra-state information pertaining to criminal activity involving public assistance fraud, and exercises judgement to ensure that accurate and reliable information is disseminated.
  7. Evaluates and analyzes criminal intelligence information to predict the capabilities, intentions, and vulnerabilities individuals and groups of individuals engaged in public assistance fraud and recommends investigative strategies.
  8. Prepares oral briefings, written reports, and recommendations in the form of intelligence assessments and detailed factual reports used by agency management and field supervisors to evaluate investigative priorities in case development.
  9. Determines structure and operation of public assistance fraud operations by thoroughly researching and analyzing intelligence information relating to patterns, trends, and movements of the groups for use by management.
  10. Participates in search warrants by sketching site diagram, logging evidence, printing evidence labels and inventory lists.
  11. Serves as Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC) for FCIC/NCIC terminal, ensuring proper procedures are followed regarding security and dissemination of criminal history information. Must obtain and maintain FCIC/NCIC certification.
  12. Serve as resource person and respond to requests for information from other agencies and represent the Division in meetings. This position may require participation on the disaster team, overtime, and the ability to attend meetings, training, conferences, and seminars, which may require extended travel to other areas.
  13. Performs related work as required.
