This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in the Office of the Inspector General.
The mission of the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) at the Florida Department of Corrections is to protect and promote public integrity and accountability within the Department through investigations, audits, and inspections. We aim to detect and prevent fraud, waste, abuse, and misconduct, ensuring that the Department operates efficiently and effectively while upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct.
This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.
JOB DUTIES:
The incumbent in this position compiles, analyzes, and disseminates information and intelligence from various agencies, the public, and other sources. Additionally, the incumbent will request, receive, analyze, and document information of a criminal nature. This position will be located and work in the Office of the lnspector General's Analysis Unit.
- Analyzes data from digital extractions for criminal activity and relates that information to previously identified criminal activity and/or individuals.
- Compiles, analyzes, and disseminates information and criminal intelligence from various agencies, the public, and other sources, and promotes these sources to maintain the exchange of pertinent information among law enforcement agencies.
- Relate those patterns to crimes that are concurrently being investigated and deliver that information to the Unit Supervisor.
- Evaluates and analyzes criminal intelligence information to predict the capabilities, intentions, and vulnerabilities of organized criminal groups of a highly sophisticated and complex nature and makes recommendations for investigative strategies.
- Prepares oraI briefings, written reports, and recommendations in the form of intelligence assessments and detailed factual reports used by agency management and field supervisors to evaluate investigative priorities and case development.

REQUIREMENTS:

- Must possess four (4) years of professional experience in crime analysis, criminal intelligence, military intelligence, investigations, or evaluation and reporting of information.
- Postsecondary education may substitute on a year for year basis for the required experience.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience and/or postsecondary education in a criminal science discipline.
- Certified Law Enforcement Analyst.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT
