POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is in the Criminal Justice Information Services, reporting to the Data Collection section and is under the direct supervision of the Criminal Justice Information Services Manager I. This position assists with oversight of various crime reporting data collections. The incumbent will be responsible for research analysis and management related to the data collections and/or the associated systems, procedures, rules/guidelines, and processes.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Monitoring multiple databases to ensure systems are operational and providing technical support as necessary;
- Ensuring information is accurate and complies with system requirements;
- Providing on-going quality assurance by identifying problem trends and recommending workable resolutions for related systems;
- Conducting research for relevant information from multiple sources;
- Collaborating with internal and external customers to gather documentation required to formulate recommendations within defined timeframes;
- Assisting management in the creation and maintenance of operational procedures to ensure section materials are up to date and available to section members;
- Offering alternative direction or solutions to help customers meet reporting needs;
- Drafting detailed written notifications to customers regarding complex questions or concerns; and
- Providing management consultant services and assistance to customers to ensure the needs of local agencies are addressed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective verbal and written communication;
- Knowledge of the criminal justice system;
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
- Ability to deal with the public in a tactful and courteous manner;
- Ability to utilize problem solving techniques;
- Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments;
- Ability to apply system requirements to documentation writing;
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others; and
- Ability to read and interpret law enforcement data.

BASE SALARY:
- $46,668.01
NOTES:
Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
