POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direct supervision of the CJIS Manager I, this position is responsible for assisting with the administration and resolution of operational and management problems as they relate to the Applicant Services Unit (ASU), its related processes, systems, and projects. This position will provide recommendations based on their analysis of the systems and monitor databases to ensure systems are operational. Additionally, this position provides research and analysis relative to state and national laws, rules, and regulations that directly and indirectly impact the dissemination of criminal justice information. This position must meet and maintain NCIC/FCIC certification, as required, and is responsible for maintaining the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Providing assistance and recommendations related to multiple ASU-related processes, systems, and special projects;
- Delivering administrative, operational, and technical expertise and support related to processes and assists with requirements gathering, testing, and implementation of new systems and updates;
- Providing ongoing quality assurance by identifying problem trends and recommending workable resolutions for ASU-related processes and systems;
- Evaluating and analyzing incoming requests and applies state and federal rules, laws and procedures to formulate a recommendation and ensure compliance with agency requirements;
- Providing bill analysis in effort to evaluate any potential impact to the section and ASU-related systems;
- Processing cases that require extensive research and applies relevant laws, policies, and procedures to ensure accuracy;
- Determining eligibility for incoming customer requests pursuing authorization to obtain national criminal history information;
- Maintaining liaison with local, state, and federal criminal justice agencies, other criminal justice agencies outside the State of Florida, non-criminal justice agencies, and the general public;
- Providing management consultant services and assistance to criminal justice and non-criminal justice customers; and
- Reviewing and processing requests for criminal history information for general public, statutorily mandated entities, and those authorized by state and federal law.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of general office procedures and practices;
- Knowledge of the Office of Financial Management payment processing procedures;
- Ability to record, collect, evaluate, and analyze data;
- Ability to organize files, records, and/or other materials;
- Ability to sort data alphabetically, numerically, and categorically;
- Ability to operate personal computers and other office equipment;
- Ability to read and interpret law enforcement data;
- Ability to follow instructions;
- Ability to review data for accuracy and completeness; and
- Ability to read and interpret state statutes.

BASE SALARY:
- $ 47,688.14
NOTES:
Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
