POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is in the Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS), reporting Statistical Analysis Center. This is a full-time position that is responsible for conducting research, working multiple data bases, compiling descriptive statistics and identifying systematic data quality issues. The incumbent will focus on Power BI (Business Intelligence) services for data analysis and dashboard creation in addition to presentation and writing skills for analytical research papers.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Compiling data sets for approved research projects;
- Consulting with management, ITS (Information Technology Systems) personnel, local and state agencies to provide analyses that inform data completeness and quality;
- Developing research reports/position papers as assigned by the CJIS Manager of the Florida Statistical Analysis Center;
- Disseminating evaluation data to other agencies as requested;
- Evaluating data and making recommendations accordingly;
- Preparing newsletter articles which present summaries of crime data and timely justice topics;
- Creating content for the Center’s website; and
- Performing other related duties where appropriate or as requested by the Director.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of methods for collection, analysis, and organization of data;
- Knowledge of the principles and techniques of research and analysis;
- Knowledge of statistical procedures and methodologies;
- Ability to collect, compile, organize and analyze data;
- Ability to plan, design, and conduct research studies;
- Ability to prepare research reports; and
- Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.

BASE SALARY:
- $52,859.88
NOTES:
Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
