POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is within the Florida Statistical Analysis Center and is responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of data management, analysis, and reporting. This role ensures integrity, usability, and accessibility of data through validation, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration. The position operates at the intersection of data quality, research support, project execution, and strategic communication, contributing to both operational needs and long-term data initiatives.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Meeting with internal and external teams, and/or subject matter experts to understand available data sources, reporting needs, and intended outcomes;
  • Assessing the structure, quality, and limitations of existing data;
  • Identifying gaps in data collection and recommending enhancements or new data capture approaches;
  • Restructuring and organizing data into standardized templates to ensure consistency, usability, and alignment with reporting requirements;
  • Establishing or refining data collection frameworks, including defining fields, formats, and validation rules;
  • Creating a foundation dataset that supports accurate and repeatable analysis;
  • Facilitating follow-up meetings to review draft datasets, early visualizations, and reporting logic;
  • Presenting dashboards, reports, and findings to internal teams, Division, Command Staff, and Executive leadership;
  • Translating complex data into clear, concise, and actionable insights; and
  • Performing detailed validation and verification of incoming data submissions to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of methods for collection, analysis, and organization of data;
  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of research and analysis;
  • Knowledge of statistical procedures and methodologies;
  • Ability to collect, compile, organize and analyze data;
  • Ability to plan, design, and conduct research studies;
  • Ability to prepare research reports; and
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.

BASE SALARY:

  • $53,917.24

 

NOTES:

Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
