MISSION:

To promote public safety and strengthen domestic security by providing services in partnership with local, state, and federal criminal justice agencies to prevent, investigate, and solve crimes while protecting Florida citizen’s and visitors.

BACKGROUND:

FDLE requires an extensive background process of all recommended applicants. CRIMINAL JUSTICE INFORMATION CONSULTANT II (PROJECTS) – 71002320

To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and four years of professional experience in criminal justice, business administration, systems analysis, management analysis, procedure analysis, program planning, program research, program evaluation, or administrative work.
  2. A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.
  3. Professional or nonprofessional experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.
  4. Any combination of professional or nonprofessional experience as described above and college education at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours per year can substitute for the required education

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direction the Senior Management Analyst Supervisor, this position will plan, coordinate, and participate in the research, evaluation, development, and implementation of projects and/or systems supporting Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS).

Specific duties include:

  • Serving on a project management team and/ or as a project manager;
  • Reviewing and providing recommendations of milestones and deliverables, testing, and assisting local agencies with maximizing the use of CJIS systems; and
  • Meeting and maintaining NCIC/FCIC certification as required.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication;
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system;
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data;
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques;
  • Ability to operate computers and other office equipment;
  • Ability to monitor criminal justice information activities;
  • Ability to work independently by planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments;
  • Ability to communicate effectively;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others;
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures;
  • Ability to read and interpret law enforcement data; and
  • Ability to deal with the public in a tactful, courteous and effective manner.

Preference will be given to current FDLE members who have satisfactorily completed their probationary period or served at least one year in their current position.
