POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the direction of an Planning and Policy Administrator, this position assists with projects related to the Applicant Services Unit (ASU) to include the State of Florida Applicant Fingerprint Retention and Notification Program (AFRNP), Next Generation Identification (NGI) Federal Rap Back Program, and other regulatory agency-specific projects. The incumbent in this position will serve as a subject matter expert and technical liaison with Information Technology Services (ITS) for the following applications: Civil Workflow Control System (CWCS), SHIELD, FDLE Information Notification System (FSSR), Computerized Criminal History Information on the Internet (CCHInet), Volunteer and Employee Criminal History Services (VECHS) System, Florida Shared School Results (FSSR) System, FALCON, and the Civil Applicant Payment System (CAPS). This position will also demonstrate a working expertise with the following applications as it relates to the daily operations of ASU: Application Security Module (ASM), CCService, Computerized Criminal History (CCH) Dissemination Log, CJIS Launch Pad, nexTEST, CJIS Online, eAgent 2.0, CMS Supervisor Web (ACD Line), Revenue Accounting Management System (RAMS), Adobe Pro, and Microsoft Office applications. Additionally, this position provides research analysis relative to state and national laws, rules, and regulations that directly or indirectly have an impact on the dissemination of criminal justice data or information. This position works independently and in teams to accomplish objectives established in the Section’s Strategic Plan and consults with other governmental agencies to evaluate their information needs and capabilities. This position must meet and maintain NCIC/FCIC certification as required by the FCIC Basic Training Manual.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Serving as subject matter expect related to criminal history systems to include comprehension and interpretation of interface contract documents, operation guides, and database relationships;
  • Consulting with local, state, and federal agencies relating to criminal justice information systems;
  • Advising and coordinating with these agencies for the development of criminal justice information plans;
  • Exercising independent judgment in formulating or assessing policies and procedures impacting these agencies; and
  • Conducting research and analysis to prepare plans, recommendations, and reports relating to objectives established by the division strategic plan.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication;
  • Knowledge of the criminal justice system;
  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data; and
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.

BASE SALARY:

  • $53,917.24

 

NOTES:

Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
