POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is in the Firearm Eligibility section, reporting to the Eligibility Research Unit. This position is responsible for researching various databases to ensure information received is accurate and complies with state and federal requirements. The incumbent will be responsible for applying federal and state disqualifiers as well as maintain, organizing, and prioritizing workflows. This position must meet and maintain National Crime Information Center/Florida Crime Information Center (NCIC/FCIC) certification as required and maintain the security and integrity of data housed within the department databases.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Maintaining regular contact with local, state, and federal criminal justice agencies;
- Conducting research for relevant information from multiple databases and resources;
- Analyzing multiple source documents to form a recommendation and decision for firearm related transactions;
- Providing documentation to external criminal justice partners to support updates to criminal justice systems;
- Ensuring internal documentation for criminal justice information updates includes extensive notation and markup to justify recommended updates to criminal history records;
- Monitoring queue in the Computerized Criminal History (CCH) workflow, selecting tasks to be completed and ensuring completion within defined timeframes;
- Properly routing completed research in the CCH workflow for validation and conducting any follow up research as necessary;
- Consulting with management to resolve difficult, unusual, or questionable transactions; and
- Submitting accurate forms and records in accordance with established section procedures.

BASE SALARY:
- $42,200.08
NOTES:
Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
