POSITION SUMMARY:
This position works independently to apply research and interpretive skills and techniques, communicates with and assists other criminal justice agencies, interprets and resolves complex issues related to sexual offender/predator information maintenance and dissemination, and uses investigative, intelligence, and informational sources/data bases to assist PCAT members. The entire focus of this position is in support of Florida’s sexual predator/offender program.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific duties include:
- Maintaining liaison with local, state, federal, and other criminal justice agencies outside the State of Florida to research, request, analyze, and maintain confidential court and arrest records to support PCAT members in their sexual offender/predator registry duties;
- Providing support to PCAT members by analyzing criminal justice data and databases to determine what court and arrest records are required for the PCAT case review process or for other agency requests to ORS; and
- Compiling and disseminating information to the criminal justice community and the public, as appropriate.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of the basic principles and practices of law enforcement and the criminal justice system;
- Knowledge of office procedures and practices;
- Knowledge of the methods of data collection;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others;
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
- Ability to determine work priorities and insure proper completion of assignments;
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Ability to work independently; and
- Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.

BASE SALARY:
- $41,200.00
NOTES:
Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
