Overview:
The Florida Gaming Control Commission (FGCC) is a five-member commission appointed by the Governor. The FGCC is charged with investigating and enforcing Florida pari-mutuel and gaming statutes and rules.
The FGCC is searching for a Cloud Systems Administrator to support our expanding agency, infrastructure, and IT team. This role will report directly to the Help Desk Manager and will assist end users while maintaining FGCC’s infrastructure systems.
This position will be involved in setting up and maintaining the agency’s Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure environments, providing support to the growing team, and supporting the agency’s Active Directory and Identity Services infrastructure.
Position Duties and Responsibilites:
- Administer Microsoft 365 services, including user, group, and license management.
- Configure, manage, and monitor Azure resources such as virtual machines, storage accounts, virtual networks (VNETs), and automation tools.
- Create and maintain objects in Azure Active Directory/Entra ID and assist the Help Desk with onboarding and offboarding users.
- Optimize configuration policies for users and devices in Microsoft Intune.
- Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support.
- Assists with deploying and troubleshooting cloud-based applications and services.
- Perform routine maintenance around reports, labels, and other documentation required by operations.
- Work with vendors to resolve technical issues or request new services.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of the cloud environment, including configurations, policies, and troubleshooting processes.
- Assists with onboarding and offboarding users, ensuring proper cloud access and permissions.
- Create and update knowledge base documentation for common cloud issues.
- Generate reports for cloud usage, security risks, and system performance.
- Proactive and reactive support to all end users by addressing assigned incidents while empowering users to resolve their own problems whenever possible.
- Provide operational support for the organization's information systems and peripheral equipment, such as servers, printers, storage devices, mobile devices, network devices, and VoIP or Collaboration solutions.
- Provide support to users of systems containing Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) data.
- Review logs and alerts for agency systems, remediating issues as they are discovered.
- Install and perform minor repairs on hardware, software, or peripheral equipment according to design or installation specifications.
- Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems encountered, remedial actions taken, and installation activities through a ticketing system and knowledge repositories.
Minimum Requirements:
- 2 years of experience supporting Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure, or Active Directory.
- Strong working knowledge of current operating systems, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Cloud services.
- Proven expertise in managing Windows Operating Systems.
- Reliable and dependable.
- Excellent analytical skills and decision-making abilities.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work with all levels of employees in a professional manner.
- Understanding of networking concepts (DHCP, IP addressing, DNS, subnets, VLANs, etc.) and the use of common network troubleshooting tools such as ping, tracert, etc.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding of principles and processes involved in business and organizational planning, coordination, and execution.
- Knowledge of cloud computing and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, Azure CLI, or Bash).
- Solid experience in administering Windows and Linux workstation and servers.
- Experience in managing and supporting eFax and print services.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Purview for compliance and data governance.
- Understanding of security frameworks, practices, and CJIS policies.
- Awareness of current trends in technology and State of Florida initiatives.
- Ability to communicate information technology issues effectively with non-technical users.
- Skilled in oral and written communication.
- Capability to manage large-scale technology projects.
