ADVERTISING TITLE: Data Administrator Analyst

 

This open state advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Central Office in Research & Data Analysis. 

 

As a member of the Research & Data Analysis team at the Florida Department of Corrections, our mission is to provide accurate, timely, and insightful data to support informed decision-making and policy development. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

 

The Florida Department of Corrections does not currently support H1B visas.

 

JOB DUTIES:

  • Handle data management tasks like ETL, quality assurance, and data governance.
  • Handle data analyst tasks such as creating reports using SAS and Excel.
  • Maintain the SAS data warehouse and SAS environment.
  • Work with the Office of Information Technology to fix data flow issues and ensure accurate data loading. Install and troubleshoot SAS software and assist with hardware and software purchases.
  • Provide technical help, support and training to bureau staff.

REQUIREMENTS:

Please note, when submitting a college/university degree, if selected for this position official transcripts will be required.

  • Four (4) years of using or administering government databases/applications (US Federal, State, etc.) experience. Postsecondary education may substitute for up to 2 years of the required experience.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with data analysis, such as using Power BI, Excel, Python or R to analyze data.
  • Experience inputting, using and analyzing People First data, Offender-Based Information System data, and Computerized Criminal History data.
  • Experience complying with confidentiality regulations and policies (e.g. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, Criminal Justice Information Services Security Policy).
  • Experience with ETL, quality assurance and data governance processes.
  • Experience with data collection, cleaning, aggregation and analysis.
  • Experience with software installation and troubleshooting.
