JOB SUMMARY:
Within the Office of Inspector General (OIG), under the supervision of the Audit Director, the Data Analyst assists the internal audit team to determine the types of data analytics that may be performed on various audit and advisory engagements. Identifies and obtains data. Corrects or removes errors, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies within a dataset. Develops analytical dashboards, utilizing data mapping, mining, conversion, integration, and statistical data analysis. Interprets analytics to determine whether potential exceptions exist and communicates the results to the internal audit team. The incumbent is expected to prepare reports containing the results of the work performed. Engagements are conducted in accordance with the professional auditing standards specified in section 20.055, F.S.

- Assist OIG processes with data analytics related to management services and investigative projects.
- Complete the required hours of continuing professional education training and maintain documentation for verification. Prioritize completion of work products for any continuing professional education hours earned over the required hours.
- Travel may be required for some assigned projects or training.
- Performs related work, as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- At least two years of professional experience in research, analysis, data analysis, or conducting audits.
SUBSTITUTIONS:
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university within the fields of data analytics, data science, or statistics may substitute for the two years of required professional experience.
PREFERENCES:
- Knowledge of standards issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
- Knowledge of the methods and tools for data collection and analysis.
- Knowledge of Microsoft suite.
- Ability to analyze and utilize applicable laws, rules, policies and procedures relating to the Department.
- Ability to organize data into logical format for presentations in reports, documents, and other written materials.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
- Working knowledge and experience in Microsoft applications. (i.e., Word and Excel)

SALARY: $52,000.08 - $55,000.08 / annually
