**This position requires occasional (20% - 30%) statewide travel. **
What you will do: The Department of Children and Families’ Office of Quality and Innovation serves as a catalyst for elevating performance statewide to support positive outcomes for Florida families. The Data Analytics Manager plays a critical role in strengthening service delivery by leveraging data, analytics, and reporting to inform decision making and drive measurable improvements.
In this role, the Data Analytics Manager will work with internal teams and external partners to develop, carry out, and review data informed strategies that support state and federal goals. The position helps ensure the Department has reliable data, useful insights, and the tools needed to guide decisions and improve outcomes for the children and families we serve.
How you will make an impact:
This position leads a data analytics team, leveraging qualitative and quantitative data to support decision making across the Department. Core duties include:

Leading and managing the Data Analytics Team, providing guidance, support, and quality oversight of all data projects, and ensuring adherence to data governance standards.

Overseeing and supporting data analytics and research projects that improve performance across multiple social service programs.

Analyzing both qualitative and quantitative program and performance data to identify trends, systemic strengths and gaps, root causes, and opportunities for improvement, and presenting findings in clear, actionable ways.

Developing and providing training to staff across the enterprise to improve data analytic capabilities and promote data literacy.

Collaborating with program staff to develop performance metrics, dashboards, and data tools for monitoring and decision making.

Designing survey and case review tools, deploying sampling methodologies to ensure adequate representation, and measuring inter-rater reliability to ensure consistency in findings.

Preparing clear and accurate reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders with recommendations for improving performance, including recommendations for policy and practice changes.
Qualifications:
-
Master’s degree in statistics, social services, public administration, business management, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is preferred
-
Four years of supervisory experience directly supervising three or more employees or equivalent experience overseeing project teams
-
At least four years of experience in a data analyst role, including extracting and managing large data sets, performing advanced statistical analyses, and developing dashboards to visualize performance metrics

At least four years of experience presenting findings and recommendations to executive audiences
-
Experience working in a health and human services setting is preferred

Ability to work at a physical office location and travel occasionally to complete work assignments
-
Preferred certifications include Lean Six Sigma, Certified Public Manager, and certifications in data analysis or analytics software (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Python, R)

Experience in implementing data governance practices and ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and reliability

Experience designing surveys and case review tools, applying sampling methodologies, and measuring inter-rater reliability

Experience leading data initiatives and developing processes or training to improve analytic capabilities across teams
