MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of experience in data processing (excluding data entry), two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in one of the computer sciences or management information systems and four (4) years of experience in data processing (excluding data entry), two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or
A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the computer sciences or management information systems and three (3) years of experience in data processing (excluding data entry), two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity; or
A doctorate from an accredited college or university in one of the computer sciences or management information systems and two (2) years of supervisory experience in data processing (excluding data entry); or
Completion of a 720-classroom hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in an area of data processing (excluding data entry) and six (6) years of experience in data processing (excluding data entry), two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
Experience in data processing (excluding data entry) can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college.
Requires possession of a valid Class E Driver License.

JOB DUTIES:
Oversee the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Desktop Support Services. Establish priorities and determine the allocation of available resources. Supervise and provide assistance, troubleshooting and all levels of support for a variety of desktop and hardware/software products. Monitor work performance of subordinates, provide counseling to develop skills and correct deficiencies, approve time sheets and leave requests, complete performance evaluations, and recommend timely disciplinary actions as needed. Responsible and accountable for managing budget/dollars/resources (staff, vehicles, computers, cell phones, etc.) of any assigned programs in an efficient and accountable manner. Responsible for ensuring that assigned program areas have operational procedures and processes which result in accountability and compliance with division and department policies and procedures.
Responsible for administration and support of Microsoft 365 services, as well as the mobile device management (MDM) platform. The MDM administrator will ensure FDACS mobile devices (workstation computers, mobile phones, tablets, etc.) are up to date on operating systems, security updates, and that all devices meet FDACS policies and procedures.
Assume a lead role in the planning, testing and implementation of major projects under the supervision of management.
Plan, coordinate, and implement asset management processes and procedures that cover all phases of information technology (IT) assets’ lifecycle including procurement, operation, retirement, and disposal. Take leadership role in managing related contracts and vendor relationships. Actively participate in programs related to security and disaster recovery.
Responsible for 2nd Level Technical and Administrative Support for the department users, including hardware, software, and communications components. This includes diagnostic evaluation and technical troubleshooting of software and hardware problems.
Formulate, coordinate, and ensure standards for desktop hardware and software.
Responsible for installation of new desktops, relocation of existing desktops, completion of installation/relocation paperwork, following standards for desktop software, and tracking of licensed products.
Perform related work as required, which will include, but not be limited to, adherence to the policies and procedures of the Department’s Information Resource Security Program (Chapter 8 – Department’s Supervisory Manual) and allocate time as requested for Disaster Recovery activities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILIITIES:
- Knowledge of distributed processing operations, procedures, and equipment.
- Knowledge of problem-solving techniques.
- Knowledge of computers, operating systems, and software.
- Knowledge of imaging software (i.e., Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, Intune).
- Knowledge of Desktop Configuration Tools such as Intune.
- Ability to supervise people.
- Ability to evaluate and resolve user problems.
- Ability to write, code, test, and debug scripting.
- Ability to take lead on technical projects.
- Ability to develop training programs related to distributed processing operations and procedures.
- Ability to monitor and resolve problems with distributed computer systems components.

- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
