Description:
The Department of Juvenile Justice, Office of Information Technology (IT) is seeking applicants for a Data Processing Manager position located in Tallahassee, Florida. This position oversees and is a member of a fast-paced application development team focused on new and enhanced development in ASP.NET. This is a supervisor position and operates as a “hands-on” technical developer lead for .NET application development projects.
The idea candidates must be highly motivated and have a strong desire to work in a team oriented environment. The candidate should have demonstrated working experience in providing software development supervision and leadership for applications developed on an Enterprise level.
The candidate for this position will be responsible for architecture design/upgrades, programming, planning, and implementing a project, able to supervise and work with a team of developers; able to follow DJJ’s Information Systems Development Methodology; able to troubleshoot and resolve system problems, able to analyze statewide agency business requirements and design systems to meet those business requirements; and able to develop user-friendly WEB application as well as client/server systems.
Candidates must have professional experience as a supervisor, technical team lead and experience with web application development using: Visual Studio ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#, MVC, SQL Reporting, .NET Framework 3.5 / 4.0, .Net 6.0 or higher, Bootstrap 4.0, jQuery 1.6 or higher, knowledge of Microsoft Azure, relational databases SQL Server, SSIS packages.
This is an SES position and receives significant benefits. The salary range for this position will be based on the applicant’s skill level.
Preference will be given to applicants with experience in developing applications that interface with the Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) system/PALM .
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 7 years of experience in supervising and /or leading .NET development teams, 10 years of working experience in Web application development, 7 years of working experience in .NET applications development and 7+ years of working experience in relational SQL data base application development and web application development Visual Studio, ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#, MVC programming, Visual Basic programming, SharePoint, Bootstrap 4.0, jQuery 1.6 or higher, knowledge of Microsoft Azure, SQL Server 2017 or later, IIS 7, SQL Reporting and create SSIS packages.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
- Knowledge of Object Oriented programming principles and best practices
- Knowledge of relational database design
- Knowledge of the concepts and theories of data processing and data communications
- Ability to work as part of a team, resolve problems and perform technical leadership duties
- Ability to communicate effectively with peers, supervisors, subordinates, technical staff and users
- Ability to communicate technical data processing information effectively, verbally and in writing
- Knowledge in automated deployments leveraging Azure Resource manager templates, DevOps and Git repository for automation and usage of Continuous Integration.
- Good knowledge of Azure PaaS services and know how to leverage them for cloud solutions.
- Proficiency in Azure DevOps and know how to use them for continuous integration, continuous delivery, pipelines, and Git & TFS version control.
- Experience in migrating and transforming existing systems to the cloud using Azure tools and best practices.
- Ability to complete work assignments while working with business analysts and other technical staff
- Ability to follow operational and maintenance procedures
- Ability to utilize integrated development environment tools such as Visual Studio
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Ability to coordinate the activities of team members

Special Notes:
Normal work hours are Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m, however, working on weekends to deploy applications may occasionally be required.
