POSITION DESCRIPTION:  Provide policy analysis and directions for the Department’s investment decisions.  Advance the Department’s legislative agenda by supporting the Legislative Director, coordinating with program offices, and external partners.  Respond and develop implementation plans for emerging issues and legislative requests.

Develop the Florida Transportation Plan, including necessary support documents, through public involvement.  Coordinate with program offices on various modal and implementation plans to ensure consistency.

Manage available resources and provide expertise. Develop, document and monitor a statewide and metropolitan planning process including the development of procedures necessary for effective implementation.

Develop transportation policy alternatives and recommendations for consideration by Department management.

Provide necessary coordination and serve as the Department's liaison on transportation policy issues with federal agencies, Legislature, Governor's Office, Florida Transportation Commission, local and regional governmental agencies, statewide commissions, task forces, councils, private sector and other state agencies.

RESULTS DRIVEN – This core competency stresses accountability and continuous improvement.  It includes the ability to make timely and effective decisions and produce results through strategic planning and the implementation and evaluation of programs and policies.
