Position Summary

This is professional accounting work involving independent application of a variety of accounting skills to a major phase of an agency’s accounting program and interpretation of contractual regulations as it applies to individual contracts. This position requires a working knowledge of the Florida Accounting information resource FLAIR and the rules and regulations governing invoice processing. Complies with mandatory requirements of Section 215.422, F.S. and Chapter 3A-20, Florida Administrative Code, in relation to specific duties.

 

The Work You Will Do 

Responsible for auditing and processing all Contract invoices. Encumbering in FLAIR, establishing accounting ledgers and tracking amendments. Record and reconcile payments to the correct ledgers. Reconciles contracts from Flair with ABC and FACTS to ensure compliance. Prepares and enters correcting entries.

 

Audit and process ABC invoices in compliance with F.S. 215.422, and FAC3A-20 and serves as the agency’s liaison to resolve problems.

 

Responsible for auditing and processing special invoices (State health, AHCA, disability, suncom, leases, Fleet, Wex, FCO, Workers comp.)

 

Responsible for printing FAS and voucher schedules, matching to corresponding backup. Verifies and assembles vouchers to be submitted to the Department of Financial Services for audit purposes daily and monitoring the status of pending vouchers, communicating with DFS on the audit process.

 

Responsible for monitoring and distribution of the ABC status report and daily batch error reports.

 

Responsible for verifying and mailing all clients, vendor, and travel reimbursement warrants. Responsible for logging returned warrants, stop payments, duplicate warrants, copies of paid warrants, requesting the warrant cancellations in flair, and making necessary transactions.

 

Serves as back up for the accountant role in Works, STMS, and Invoice manager role in AOD.

 

Performs other related duties as required.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year auditing/accounting experience.

 

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 365 suite.

 

  • Minimum High School diploma or its equivalent.

 

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program.  Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.

Background Screening Requirement
