MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: 

 

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming or in planning or designing distributed computer systems; or

 

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course of study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems and two (2) years of experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming or in planning or designing distributed computer systems; or

 

A master's degree from an accredited college or university with major course of study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems; or

 

Four (4) years of experience as described above and either (1) completion of a 720-classroom hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in an area of data processing (excluding data entry), or

 

(2) 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college course work from an accredited institution which includes four courses in computer science or management information systems.

 

Experience as described above can be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

 

Completion of a one-year program of study from a vocational/technical school in an area of data processing (excluding data entry) can substitute for one year of the required experience.

 

Requires possession of a valid Class E driver license.

JOB DUTIES:

 

Responsible for 2nd and 3rd Level Technical Support for department employees and workstations, including hardware, software, and communications components. 

 

•           Duties include diagnostic evaluation and technical troubleshooting of software and hardware problems both on-site and remotely via FDACS-owned software and services.

•           Provide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.

•           Perform repairs, upgrades, and installations of IT equipment

 

Responsible for supporting the configuration of Florida Department of Agriculture Consumer Services (FDACS) mobile devices via a Mobile Device Management (MDM) platform.

 

•           Configuration of mobile devices will include, but not be limited to, initial setup, maintenance of devices within the MDM, and maintaining established standards for those devices.

Responsible for taking the lead and supporting the planning, testing, and implementation of projects under the supervision of management, including designing and implementing software management via the department-owned MDM platform. 

•           Communicate effectively with clients to understand their technical needs and concerns.

•           Provide clear explanations and instructions to management and clients regarding technical issues and solutions.

 

Responsible for installation of new desktops, relocation of existing desktops, completion of installation/relocation paperwork, following standards for desktop software, and tracking of licensed products.

 

•           Formulate, coordinate, and ensure standards for desktop hardware and software meet the standards set by the Office of Agriculture Technology Services.

•           Document all service requests, troubleshooting steps, and solutions in a ticketing system.

•           Maintain accurate records of equipment inventory and configuration details.

 

Perform related work as required, which will include, but not be limited to, adherence to the policies and procedures of the Department’s Information Resource Security Program (Chapter 8 – Department’s Supervisory Manual) and allocate time as requested for Disaster Recovery activities.

  • Knowledge of distributed computer processing operations, procedures, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of problem-solving techniques.
  • Knowledge of computers, operating systems, and software.
  • Knowledge of computer imaging via Microsoft Windows Autopilot and the Microsoft Intune platform.
  • Awareness of cybersecurity best practices and data protection measures.
  • Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Ability to efficiently manage time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to document and share new techniques or processes.
  • Ability to resolve problems with computer hardware, software, and applications.
  • Ability to identify and communicate user needs.
  • Ability to work, collaborate, and communicate effectively with others.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
