Distributed Computer Systems Specialist

Location: Tallahassee, Florida

•    This is a Desktop Support technician position that falls under the Bureau of Education Data Center, Division of Technology and Innovation. Duties include, but are not limited to, updating all devices to the latest agency approved version of the Windows 11 operating system, updating devices to M365, implementing, and supporting remote software support solutions. Ability to troubleshoot and support teleworking employees. Create technical documentation for all supported software applications and hardware installations. Reconfigure workstations for new and existing clients. Work with other Data Center teams to set up new clients or change existing client's configuration of hardware and software.

•    Development and implementation of technology standards which includes but is not limited to, collaboration tools such as Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online; and Microsoft cloud-based mobile device management and mobile application management tools such as Intune, BitLocker software encryption, Azure Active Directory and M365.
•    Create technical documentation for all supported software applications and hardware installations.

•    Researches, evaluates, and tests modern technology in accordance with established team goals and initiatives.
•    Incumbent in this position may be required to be in on-call and/or call back status.
•    Provides on-site and remote technical assistance to clients through diagnosis of problems and implementation of changes to resolve problems.


Must be able to dead lift at least 50 lbs.

Background Screening Requirements 
It is the policy of the Florida Department of Education that applicants for employment undergo level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
