DESCRIPTION:

The Bureau of General Services is seeking an individual to work in Fleet Management, building operations management and records management. This position requires strong detailed oriented skills.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:

Prepares, ships, and sorts United States (US) and interoffice mail for statewide distribution daily. Operates Pitney Bowes Postage meter. Prepares and ships packages with waybill for overnight courier, express mail, or parcels. Delivers incoming packages to Headquarters staff. Performs daily pick-up and deliveries to and from the Department of Financial Services, local banks, and the US Post Office. Assists the Support Services Operations Manager in submitting work orders to Koger for janitorial and building related issues. Serves as liaison with Koger on all related janitorial and building issues. Provides telephone assistance to staff regarding mail procedures and resolves complaints or problems pertaining to distribution or receipt of mail locally and statewide. Performs other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of general office procedures and practices. Knowledge of agency, interoffice and U.S. postal mail distribution and preparation. Knowledge of correct grammar usage. Knowledge of problem-solving techniques. Ability to operate commonly used office equipment such as computers, printers, paper shredders. Ability to use Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint). Ability to prepare reports and correspondence. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities. Ability to develop and implement office procedures. Ability to follow verbal and written directions with minimal to no supervision. Ability to review data for accuracy and completeness. Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations. Ability to communicate effectively written and verbally. Ability to make decisions in a timely manner. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to coordinate work to meet deadlines. Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.

PREFERRED MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A High School diploma is required. 

Valid Florida Drivers License is required.

PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WITH THE FOLLOWING:

Preference will be given to candidates with 1-3 years’ experience working with fleet operations and building maintenance requests.

A valid driver’s license is required for this position. If initially hired with an out-of-state license, the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida state driver’s license within 30 days of hire. Licenses suspended or revoked for any reason, work permits (Business purpose/Employment/education only licenses) and some types of restricted licenses are not acceptable.  Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
