STARTING SALARY: $1,901.37 ($49,435.62 annually) (Full-Time DJJ Operations Coordinator) (In accordance with current spending restrictions, if the appointment is an internal promotion, the position will be filled at the minimum of the pay grade or up to 5% of the employee’s current rate, whichever higher.)

DESCRIPTION:
This position serves as a Communications/Office Coordinator to the Assistant Secretary for Prevention Services – DJJ.
Incumbent will help maintain the Assistant Secretary's updates on policy and administration matters, including projects and reports; ensure that assignments are completed accurately and on time, and will provide recommendations and solutions. The position will help with the dissemination and tracking of assignments to staff.
The position will assist with maintaining the Assistant Secretary’s calendar and assists with directing special projects or activities. Serve as the assistant office manager and ensure major office functions are supported and sustained. Additionally, the role requires assisting in the coordination of the Assistant Secretary’s speaking engagements, travel, conferences, and appointments, as well as assisting with travel documents.
The Communications/Office Coordinator creates and maintains relations with the DJJ Communication division. Duties and responsibilities involve handling writing, editing content, and other communication materials.
Responsible for the review of work products of other staff, review of the ELT report, composes written and summarizes material for the Assistant Secretary for Prevention Services – DJJ. Assist with producing writing events and talking points.
Assist with implementing internal communication strategies to keep employees informed about program initiatives, updates and events, fostering a positive workplace culture.
Performs other job duties as required.

Ability to collect evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document workflow and other activities relating to the improvement of operational and management practices.
Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Preference may be given to all candidates who possess the following experience:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. At least 1-2 years of office experience and/or communication experience.
A master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute for one year of the required experience.

If initially hired with an out-of-state license, the Florida resident must obtain a valid Florida state driver's license within 30 days of hire. Licenses that have Corrective Lenses Restriction are acceptable, provided the driver wears corrective lenses while operating the vehicle.
