Minimum Qualifications:

Current Department of State Employee

A high school diploma or equivalent.

Three years of clerical work experience. College education may substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required work experience.

 

Preferences:

Experience performing clerical duties such as data entry, filing, photocopying and mailing materials.

Experience with image processing software such as Adobe Photoshop.

Experience working in a team to complete complex processes.

Experience with the proper handling of rare, important or sensitive records or other materials.

Experience conducting research or answering public requests for information.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assists with preparing items for digitization, indexing, transcription and quality control.

Maintains inventory of promotional materials and manages distribution of such materials to the public and other agencies, including packaging these materials for outreach programs or shipment to requestors.

Prepares and operates audio/visual equipment, computers and related software for meetings, programs and events.

Assists with rehousing, arranging and describing collections.

Performs clerical duties such as data entry, filing, photocopying and mailing.

Performs other work related duties as required.

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of Florida history

Ability to transcribe original archival records

Lift and carry 40 lb. boxes.
