Minimum Qualifications:
Six years of direct professional experience or a master's degree in archives, records management, history, public history, library science or one of the social sciences can substitute for the experience.
Preferences:
At least one year of professional experience in a formally established archives program (municipal, county, state, or national, historical society, university).
Coursework or workshops in archives or records management outside of a completed degree or certification.
At least one year of experience working in one or more of the following: archival collections management, reference, preservation/conservation, public programs.
At least one year of experience working in Florida government.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides assistance to Archives researchers in accordance with professional archival reference and access standards and practices and with statutory and regulatory access requirements and restrictions, including identification and selection of desired archival records, use of indexes and other finding aids handling and use of archival collections, and use of online resources.
Performs historical and archival research necessary to respond to in person, mail, electronic and telephone requests for information from and about State Archives historical records collections and prepares replies for these requests.
Provides group instruction to professional and history-allied organizations and the general public on the State Archives’ historical records collections, services and procedures to promote understanding, appreciation and use of the Archives.
Assists in the development of finding aids, written procedures and other archives policies as needed in accordance with professional archival descriptive standards and operating practices.
Performs other work-related duties as required.
