DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Serves as a member of a team development effort to develop Department applications and write .NET applications for cloud and on-premise systems including database and cloud data storage.  Participates in application development and documentation.  Conducts meetings with management and outside vendors. Maintains computer programs or system software to store, locate, and retrieve specific documents, data, and information and may program web sites.
  • Development work includes but is not limited to user interfaces, error and logging modules, web services and sites, file and image management, database and data constructs, reporting, and external partner/vendor interfaces.  All work is conducted at Florida Department of State offices (no remote). Designs, develops, tests and implements software systems for the department. Serves as a team member on projects. Responsible for adhering to BDIS standards when developing, testing and documenting application code on new or existing systems using Agile methodology. Participates in the discovery process to determine business needs and defines functional specifications and project estimates. Co-develops applications and services with external partners and vendors.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 3 years’ experience and experience in the last 24 months with the following:
  • C# .Net 4.0 or higher
  • Visual Studio 2017
  • WCF & RESTful web services
  • SQL Server and Oracle database
  • Agile Development
  • Test Driven Development
  • ASP.NET
  • MVC
  • WPF
  • .NET batch/council applications
  • SSRS
  • Object oriented programming and Developing Services Oriented Architecture
  • Reading and writing software documentation
  • Communication with a development team and business users concerning software functionality
  • Understanding business rules development/requirement collection
