WORKING TITLE: CCR COORDINATOR

Minimum Qualifications:

Four years of direct experience or a bachelor’s degree can substitute for experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in law, criminal justice, criminology, archives, records management, history, public history, library science, or one of the social sciences.

 

At least one (1) year of full-time professional work experience in a setting that required customer service and technical assistance

 

Coursework or workshops in law, archives or records management outside of a completed degree or certification.

 

At least one (1) year of full-time professional work experience in one or more of the following: law, records management, collections management, reference

 

At least one (1) year of full-time professional work experience in Florida government.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Coordinates Capital Postconviction Records Repository activities, including accessioning, processing, reproduction, delivery to counsel of capital post convictions public records, and court-ordered shipment to the trial court of exempt record.

Develops specialized finding aids, guides, indexes and descriptive materials for Capital Postconviction collections.

Develops filing arrangements for the physical and intellectual placement of complex records systems within the State Archives’ Capital Postconviction holdings

Responds to telephone, mail and email requests for information about the programs or activities of the section and serves as main point of contact for Capital Postconviction inquiries. Recommends to and informs Supervisor of processing needs and priorities for Capital Postconviction collection. 

Assists in providing technical assistance to municipal, county and state government agencies about archival resources, manuscript management, and the care and use of records with extended or permanent retention.

Provides constant monitoring of state-of-the-art techniques and practices for archival management. Maintains a high level of expertise through training courses, information exchange, reading and research. Performs other work-related duties as required.

Knowledge of historical research techniques and trends

 

Ability to communicate effectively

 

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others

 

Ability to lift and carry 20 lb. boxes
