Minimum Qualifications:

Six years of direct professional experience or a master's degree from an accredited college or university can substitute.

Experience developing, organizing and conducting professional development activities.

Experience in grant administration, project management or service project implementation.

Proficient with virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom) to lead online meetings.

Proficient with MS Office Suite and online presentation software.

Preferences:

Master’s degree in library science or related discipline from an accredited institution.

Experience with a learning management system (LMS) or video editing.

Experience in facilitating online and in-person meetings.

Three years of library work experience in continuing education content development and delivery

Experience working with Friends, Volunteers, Boards, Trustees or similar groups.

Experience working in library administration or a supervisory role.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides consulting and technical assistance services to public library administrators, promoting best practices in library governance, long-term planning, management and service delivery. Responsibilities include staying informed about library trends and current issues, designing projects or programs that benefit library administrators, and facilitating continuing education opportunities as priorities evolve.

Provides consulting services and technical assistance services to Friends groups and foundation members, library board members and citizen supporters. Designs and implements programs along with relevant materials to support library administrators in their interactions with local governing officials, library board members, trustees and Friends groups.

Collaborates with internal continuing education teams and external partners to create innovative learning solutions including interactive training modules, multimedia resources and asynchronous online coursework. Develops and supports learning management platforms to ensure accessible, current professional development resources. Facilitates varying learning modalities including live training sessions, virtual workshops, webinars and hybrid educational events. Monitors emerging trends and competencies, and professional development best practices to ensure program relevance and effectiveness. Ensures all educational content meets ADA standards and compliance requirements.

Works in a team environment in the Bureau of Library Development to plan and implement Bureau and Division activities, including continuing education opportunities, outreach, publications, surveys, grant administration and other priorities. Efforts are consistent with the Division’s Five-year plan for library development in Florida.

Performs other related duties as required. Ensures that usage of the State Purchasing Card (P-Card) conforms to all state and departmental rules and procedures.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Demonstrated experience in developing, organizing and conducting professional development activities.

Experience in grant administration, project management or service project implementation.

Proficient in virtual meeting platforms and productivity tools such as Zoom and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.

Excellent oral and written communication abilities
