Our Organization and Mission: The Office represents the State of Florida in state and federal civil and criminal courts, from trial courts to the Supreme Court of the United States.

 

Pay: $72,000 -  $75,000 Annually

 

Position Summary: This position serves as the chief advocate and spokesperson for training and professional development functions.  This position also has oversight of the Emergency Disaster Response Training Plan.  The position spends most of the time communicating, motivating, training, and evaluating the agency’s training unit.  The ideal candidate must have experience in developing and presenting training material.

 

Qualifications: 

  • 9 years of professional or technical experience in areas such as training; analyzing,   developing and measuring instructional training programs; teaching; curriculum development; staff development; research; or program evaluation.
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and five years of professional or technical experience as described above.
  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university and three years of professional or technical experience as described above.
  • A juris doctorate or doctorate from an accredited college or university.

 

The Work You Will Do: This position’s duties include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Supervise the development, administration and coordination of guidelines, policies, procedures, annual and long-term training plans, and budget related to training and professional development functions within the agency. 
  • Consult with senior management and develop relationships with managers, supervisors, and employees to foster a continuous learning environment within the agency. 
  • Oversee the leadership development program. 
  • Follow established design standards for creating, updating, and delivering leadership development curriculum. 
  • Establish target audience for various leadership training programs. 
  • Design, maintain and update leadership development instruction based on training requirements and target audience.
  • Complete biennial survey and assessment of all agency formal training programs. 
  • Partner with program owners and Division leadership in assessments to assist with identifying improvement opportunities and in determination of continued effectiveness of training program.
  • Oversee the training functions necessary to ensure continued and full deployment of the agency’s activities and initiatives.  This includes the development and delivery of classes, courses, workshops, and seminars needed to provide information and skills; as well as establishment and maintenance of computer-based training programs. 
  • Consult with industry and government leaders to adopt best practices demonstrated by other state and federal agencies and the private sector; ensure that the agency’s process is charted and evaluated; research, develop and implement innovated solutions to improve business operations and practices.
  • Oversee the development, review, maintaining and coordination of the agency’s continuity of operations plan (COOP) before, during and after emergency disaster incidents to ensure mission-essential functions can continue with minimal or no disruption during all types of disaster-related emergencies.  Office is responsible for COOP Review, Training, and Exercises to ensure the agency’s plan is current and executable. 
  • Participate in the support of the agency’s Management team during actual emergency situations.
