Our Organization and Mission: The Office represents the State of Florida in state and federal civil and criminal courts, from trial courts to the Supreme Court of the United States. 

 

Position Summary: This Education and Training Specialist position is in the Office of the Attorney General within the Information Technology (IT) Unit in Tallahassee, Florida. This position in Information Technology (IT) is responsible for delivering training to internal agency employees in the organization. This includes training on how to use various types of software programs efficiently and effectively in support of business objectives. This position is responsible for designing, improving, and delivering training for software applications, training programs and related courseware. The position will lead internal software training, delivery, competency development, and documentation.

 

Pay: $54,000.00 - $57,000.00 Annually, commensurate with experience

 

Qualifications: 

60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college course work from an accredited institution which includes four courses in education, communication, technical writing, curriculum development or the equivalent and
-Five years of experience developing, delivering and providing formal training; or


Completion of a 720-classroom hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or community college in technology and
-Five years of experience developing, delivering and providing formal training; or


A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three years of professional experience developing, delivering, and providing formal training; or 


A master’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, communication, technical writing, curriculum development or the equivalent and two years of professional experience developing, delivering, and providing formal training; or


A doctorate from an accredited college or university in education, communication, technical writing, curriculum development or the equivalent and one year of professional experience developing, delivering, and providing formal training. 


Experience in education, communication, technical writing, curriculum development or the equivalent or in developing and delivering training can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

*Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling, verification, and methodology development.

*Experience with any or all of the following is highly desirable: ECM, CMS and CRM solutions.

*Experience developing and managing content in Learning Management Systems such as Canvas, Bridge, Blackboard, or other LMS systems.

 

The Work You Will Do: The responsibilities of this position are included, but are not limited to the following: 

Responsible for internal technology training and competency development for the OAG. Develop and deliver technology training for the OAG. Support ongoing training initiatives, as necessary (e.g., supporting training efforts around Microsoft Dynamics, OnBase, LawBase, Adobe products, and FreshService).

Prepare, review, revise, maintain, and deliver technical training documentation for the multiple technologies in the OAG technology stack. Gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing functionality. Create resources and educational materials including videos, demos, tutorials, training materials, general & technical overviews and frequently asked questions. Research, write, edit, and revise content that is relatable to various skills sets. Apply both technical and non-technical backgrounds to create user guides, integration guides, in-platform instructions, installation/configuration instructions and system operations.

Leverage multiple training approaches, methods, and formats to deliver technical training to various teams with different needs and skill sets. Measure and track performance during training to gauge learnings and evolve and pivot where needed to enhance understanding and execution.


Collaboration with the OAG Training and Development Office (TDO) to ensure the development and delivery of technical training is done within the established policies, standards and best practices established by the TDO and IT. Coordinate technical training material, digital content, and other training expectations with the TDO and IT. Work with stakeholders on technical training initiatives to include collaboration with internal teams.

Assist with interviews to gather user requirements via workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, and other methods. 

Assist in conducting research on software and hardware products to meet agreed upon requirements and to support purchasing efforts.

Communicate changes, enhancements, and modifications of software – verbally or through written documentation – to stakeholders with regards to technical training materials. Ability to coach and mentor others with building digital content that supports the overall training vision for the OAG IT Division. Experience writing digital content to support imaging systems and case management systems. Ability to communicate complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders. Ensure technical training solutions meet business needs and requirements. Instructional design experience building and delivering online and classroom content. Understand and document business processes and workflows and their relationships to current and future software solutions.

Assist with analyzing the impact of change requests.

Perform other related work as required.

Job duties may require travel to other locations in Florida and work outside of normal hours.
