SPECIAL NOTES:
Two (2) or more years of experience with Florida Accounting and Information Resource (FLAIR) is preferred.
Additional preferences:
- Bachelors’ Degree from an accredited university.
- Two (2) or more years of professional accounting or auditing experience, to include knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Two (2) or more years of experience with contract management.
- One (1) or more years of instruction delivery.
- One (1) year experience of working with curriculum design or authoring tools.
- One (1) year experience of working with Learning Management Systems.
- One (1) or more years of experience with Florida Planning, Accounting, and Ledger Management (PALM).
- Experience conducting training in various delivery methods.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments.
- Experience working with Subject Matter Experts.
- One (1) or more years of experience in public speaking and/or developing and conducting instructor-led training.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
Must be able to move computer equipment, phones, tables, and chairs to accommodate different training events with or without accommodation.
Anticipated starting salary for the position will be $56,452.33.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Competent public speaking skills. Knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective communication. Knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques of training or instruction. Ability to prepare a variety of written training materials such as lesson plans, curricula, performance evaluations or reports. Effective training skills in various delivery methods. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Project management experience. Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques. Ability to effectively work independently with little supervision. Ability to work within a team environment.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
This position is with the Director’s Office of the Department of Financial Services, Division of Accounting and Auditing. Position responsibilities include:
- Provide education on the state’s accounting systems, best practices in contract and grant management that are aligned with the Division’s goals for users within the Department of Financial Services and all agencies. To teach system users how to process business events (accounting transactions) in accordance with defined policies and procedures.
- Conduct and analyze training needs using needs assessments, surveys, and focus groups. Also prepare and review operational reports and schedules to make sure office processes are efficient and the tracking of and reporting of performance metrics.
- Support agency accounting personnel by promptly and accurately responding to email and telephone inquiries, scheduling, hosting, and preparing for dedicated agency learning lessons.
- Support the maintenance of the Learning Management System (LMS) data (i.e. class rosters, course records, etc.).
Performs other duties as assigned.
