POSITION SUMMARY:

This full-time position is located within the Human Resource Management (HRM) bureau and reports to the Human Resource Manager I. As an Employee Relations Consultant, you will serve as a trusted advisor to both leadership and members of FLDE, offering expert guidance in employee relations, policy interpretation, and performance management. The role demands a collaborative approach, working closely with teams across the organization to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Strong facilitation skills and a commitment to exceptional customer service are essential to succeed in this role.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Specific duties include:

  • Providing guidance to supervisors and agency leadership on addressing employee concerns, administering disciplinary actions, and implementing corrective measures in alignment with established agency policies and rules;
  • Serving as the agency’s performance management coordinator;
  • Serving as the agency’s coordinator for the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA);
  • Serving as the agency’s Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action (EEO/AA) Coordinator;
  • Conducting reviews of complaints of harassment and/or discrimination submitted by members and preparing report of findings for each review that is conducted;
  • Preparing annual EEO/AA Plan;
  • Ensuring compliance with and consistent application of each regarding applicable laws, rules, policies and procedures;
  • Serving as the agency’s coordinator for the Employee Assistance Program (EAP);
  • Serving as the HRM representative for FDLE’s Behavior Threat Assessment Management (BTAM) Team; and
  • Conducting special studies and inquiries to analyze problems and issues stemming from management practices and recommends corrective action.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis;
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices;
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, document work flow and other activities relating to the improvement of management practices;
  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents and other written materials;
  • Ability to conduct fact finding research;
  • Ability to utilize problem solving techniques;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments;
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; and
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

BASE SALARY:

  • $63,036.00

 

NOTES:

Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
