POSITION DESCRIPTION: Performs the administration and documentation of the Department’s Active Directory infrastructure, primarily responsible as a domain administrator for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) domain. Creates, modifies, test, and assists with the creation of Active Directory group policies. Responsible for task automation using scripting tools and performs scripting to enhance systems. Performs systems analysis, system support, and makes recommendations. Participates in the appropriate testing for Active Directory integration and components. Monitor and troubleshoot replication, Domain Name System (DNS) health in the FDOT Active Directory domain. Develops scripts for the enhancement of Active Directory and Active Directory application, component deployments.
Maintains a secure environment and network infrastructure in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures and practices. Monitors network for security threats or unauthorized users. Analyzes security risks. Ensures anti-spam and virus protection is in place. Maintains security documentation as required. Monitors Service Desk queue and resolves support tickets as assigned. Documents work performed and resolution(s). Identify, analyze and resolve problems and issues through the use of troubleshooting tools and techniques as well as teamwork. Provides high level of customer service by providing status and information to the customer.
Generates and maintains technical documentation as assigned. Documents server names, roles, and addresses. Documents changes such as application installations and modified security settings as required. Responds to security incidents as assigned. Captures additional event data and performs preliminary analysis to determine criticality. Escalates events if emergency response is determined necessary. Reviews and analyzes log data to determine nature and scope of incident. Uses virus, spyware, rootkit and other detection tools to determine necessary mitigation and repair. Documents all steps taken and subsequent resolutions.
Performs user provisioning for elevated access to ensure access to authorized resources and applications. Sets up elevated user computer network access as requested. Grants elevated access to systems, network applications and databases based on a unique user identity. Deactivates user objects and attributes when requested.
Plans, organizes, manages and tracks projects. Develops the project plan and schedule. Supports and informs project stakeholders and team. Identifies and mitigates project risks and conflicts. Tracks project progress and goals achieved.
Participates on statewide teams, both internal and external to the Office of Information Technology (OIT). Provide facts to facilitate the team's decision-making process and to achieve the team's goals. Shares information and receives feedback from other OIT staff as appropriate.

OTHER JOB RELATED REQUIREMENTS: Due to the nature of this position, the incumbent must respond to emergencies and be “on-call” (24 hour duty) when necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Three years of experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming, or in planning or designing distributed computer systems. Post secondary education can substitute for the required experience on a year for year basis.
