POSITION DESCRIPTION: Performs system administration duties in support of the agency’s enterprise Cloud and Messaging environment. Assists with monitoring of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Cloud environment including message flow, archiving, internal client support, security settings and alerts, feature changes, and works with third party vendor support.


Assists the Department’s General Counsel’s office with duties surrounding electronic mail searches (e-discovery) for public records requests. Keeps supervisor informed of all requests and status of fulfillment and advised of issues which could complicate responding in a timely manner. Performs work with a constant eye on quality – understanding the task at hand.  Completes the work thoroughly and presents results and reports in a professional, easy to understand manner.


Serves as point of escalation and support for workstation support teams.  Reviews and processes requests related to received spam messages to ensure malicious content is addressed and remediated in a timely manner.


Monitors Service Desk queue and resolve support tickets as assigned. Documents work performed and resolution(s). Identify, analyze, and resolve problems and issues through the use of troubleshooting tools and techniques as well as teamwork. Provides high level of customer service by providing status and information to the customer.


Generates and maintains detailed technical documentation for all areas of responsibility for future reference and training.


Maintains, reads, understands and abides by Information Technology resources policies, statutes, procedures, rules, regulations, and directives for Central Office.


Participates on statewide teams, both internal and external to the Office of Information Technology (OIT).  Provide facts to facilitate the team's decision making process and to achieve the team's goals. Shares information and receives feedback from other OIT staff as appropriate.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to identify problems, and to generate a number of different approaches to problems; ability to analyze needs to produce requirements to create a design, and develop approaches to implement said design; ability in effective oral and written communications as indicated by the needs of the audience; ability in weighing the relative costs and benefits of a potential action; knowledgeable in the use of logic and analysis to identify the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches; ability to administer electronic e-mail filtering systems in a large enterprise environment; ability to function as enterprise administrator for current versions of Microsoft Exchange and Outlook; knowledge of mobile device management; knowledge of electronic fax systems.

 

OTHER JOB RELATED REQUIREMENTS: This position has On-Call responsibilities to work to handle emergency situations or other needed activities. The incumbent of this position will at times be required to work during weekends, nights, or holidays due to emergency conditions. Position will be required to carry a cell phone during the On-Call periods.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in computer systems analysis, computer programming, or in planning or designing distributed computer systems; or A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course of study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems; or Two years of experience as described above and either (1) completion of a 720 classroom hour program of study from a vocational/technical school or accredited community college in an area of data processing (excluding data entry), or (2) 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college course work from an accredited institution which includes four courses in computer science or management information systems. Experience as described above can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required college education. Completion of a one-year program of study from a vocational/technical school in an area of data processing (excluding data entry) can substitute for one year of the required experience.
