Position Overview and Responsibilities:
This Environmental Administrator-SES position, 37010685, is in the Division of Environmental Assessment and Restoration’s Chemistry Program’s Liquid Chromatography (LC) and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) Group in Tallahassee. It is responsible for the management of the LC/VOC Group, directing the efforts of ten professional and technical staff analyzing environmental samples for pesticides, herbicides, chemical warfare agents, volatile and semi-volatile organics, and other compounds of interest to agency programs such as PFAS and cyanotoxins. This position is critical to satisfying ongoing demands for analyses necessary to support water quality impairment decisions and providing support for other customers, both within and outside the Department of Environmental Protection.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Minimum Qualifications:
- At least eight years of verifiable related experience in chemistry, environmental science, natural sciences, biological sciences, or physical sciences. Post-secondary degrees from an accredited college or university with a major in chemistry, environmental science, natural sciences, biological sciences, or physical sciences may be used as an alternative for the required years of experience on a year-for-year basis. A credential evaluation report from an approved agency must be submitted along with all foreign degrees.
- Two years of the verifiable related experience is to be as a supervisor, coordinator, project manager, program manager, team lead, team trainer, or have completed related managerial/leadership training.
- Valid Driver’s License
Position of Special Trust Requirement:
This position is designated as a Position of Special Trust in accordance with DEP Directive 422, Positions of Special Trust or Responsibility. Successful completion of background screening will be required for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the analytical technique of liquid chromatography.
- Knowledge of the analytical technique of VOC analysis.
- Experience with the analytical technique of liquid chromatography.

Pay:
$5,071.42 to $5,578.56 per month (commensurate with experience).
